Specchio-COVID19 is one year old!

Just over a year ago, in response to the pandemic emergency, we launched the Specchio-COVID19 platform to facilitate the monitoring of our studies on the impact of COVID-19 in Geneva. This tool has given a boost to our interactions and, above all, has enabled us to monitor the situation over the long term.

Thanks to digital questionnaires, we can ask you regular questions on a wide range of health issues. In return, we can send you the latest news and scientific findings.

Today, more than 10,000 of you regularly take part in this civic act of commitment to public health.

Thanks to your participation, we have been able to analyse a wealth of data that continues to shed light on the medium- and long-term impact of COVID-19. Scientific knowledge is progressing and will help guide public action to better manage the health crisis.

The Specchio-COVID19 platform is currently being used in three main studies: Specchio-COVID19 for epidemiological monitoring of adults who took part in a serology study; SEROCoV-Schools, targeting transmission mechanisms in schools and crèches; and SEROCoV-KIDS, which aims to understand the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the health and development of children and adolescents in Geneva. This new study will start at the beginning of December 2021.

  • 13,363 responses to inclusion questionnaires for adults and children
  • 39,961 responses to monthly questionnaires
  • 28,959 responses to thematic questionnaires
  • 286,353 visits to the Specchio-COVID19 website
  • 954,139 pages viewed on Specchio-COVID19
  • 445,774 emails sent
